Happened upon a site called GoodMenProject.com. It had an excellent summary of current research about the kind of meditation we've been taught here at Wilmington VA's MBSR (mindfulness-based-stress-reduction) 9 week course. It does a nice job of showing the many different diseases and conditions which research has shown that Mindfulness Meditation helps with. Article validates and clearly summarizes what we find in many of the other citations we've posted to this site. I for one am intrigued by the effects on DNA and our immune biochemistry.
